“Having flown over the burn site with the DPS this morning, it’s important that you know we continue to have active fires in the area. As of this moment, we have an active fire South of FM1488 near Rice Road. I saw several hot spots scattered throughout the burn site outside of the FM 1488 fire. Even though we are doing our best to safely let you back to your homes, things could change at a moment’s notice, so please stay ready in the event we must re-issue evacuation orders for your safety.  If you have moved animals, particularly livestock, out of the evacuation areas, we encourage you to refrain from bringing them back in at this time. Thank you for your support, your generosity to your neighbors and your patience during this difficult time.“

-Waller County Judge Glenn Beckendorff on 9-12-2011 3:20 pm
